Love…Unexpectedly!

In creating balance (yes balance is definitely needed in everything), in my blog posts I thought it sublime to share something special with you all. Despite everything that I have been through this past year and the last few all the curve-balls thrown at me, I have discovered that I am a true hopeless romantic. No matter what, my heart is happiest when in love. I know, for the cynics I may seem somewhat naïve…almost like a teenager. But I really don't care about being crucify when it comes to affairs of the heart. Nope. Since, each of us gets our heart broken at some point in time; whether it is in a relationship or friendship. No one gets away unscathed. But what really sets us apart, I think is fortitude. When we get wounded, how many of us not only rise and dust ourselves off, but actually put oneself out there again and give another person a fair shot/chance?? Its insanity…at the highest level. So be true to thyself; we all have to be relatively insane to make this life livable bearable, right? The fact that I am writing in this space, reveals my sanity level.

In becoming older wiser, I realized what it is exactly I want in a relationship and know that I won't settle for just anything. Arrogant or bigoted? I say lessons learned. In order to give yourself and/or another a fair shot, knowing what one wants is paramount. Can you imagine, male pals that I was never interested in before...suddenly become more appealing? It's like I never really saw them until now. And I must let some of them know too, I have found that it's quite easy to weed through people who just want to 'bang' me...however, I only 'bang' who I fall in love with.. For love is so unique, so particular, so undefined and yet unexpected. It knows neither rules nor boundaries and is present whether you want it to or not. Yet, you need to love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.

Enjoy a poem that was written for me this past May;
   but was released this month…

"Your beauty has no boundaries…. This is for you babe and I hope you like it….. They say a fruit doesn’t fall far from a tree; I say the tree is a picture of the greatness and inner beauty in its finest vision…. So don’t be amaze or disturbed when people look at you and stare, point fingers, judge you and hate you… Because how can they explain such beauty, grace, intelligence, People hate what they don’t understand; fear what they can’t conquer… So when you see them stand and stare give them a good look because they have not yet seen the best of you but they fear what is yet to come… They say beauty is in the eyes of the be-holder, how thrown away I am when I look at you unable to explain but yet taken I guess this is what feels like to walk on moon, to be caught by element of surprise, and that beauty doesn’t even belong to me…. Always keep your head up at all times for only you can determine who you are and what you can become (no one else) … my love i am captured by your beauty... i could write poems about your beauty and still there would be so much to say.... i hope you would allow me to get to know you so that i could experience your beauty." −BD

again its after midnight and your blog seem to get the better of me when I should be working on this HR paper. In regards to love I believe that it have no boundaries, coluor, race, religion, sexual preference ect. It sometimes come in the night like a thief or in broad daylight like a friend, it is up to you to recognize it. And I believe we all know when someone is interested in us, however, we may chose not to accept it or pretend that it not so. Whatever love is the most over rated 4 letter word. An old friend of mine who pass away many years ago once told me that men are the victim of love. They are the one who fall for it, in comparison to women who rather and prefer when it comes to love. for example if it have to guys who are interested in a women one working in KFC and the other is a bank manager, KFC means of transport is bus and bank manager own a BMW. Which one will she fall in love with? Don’t answer LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way give him a chance (the Poet) and keep up the good work on the blog

As usual, the other comments miss the important point...

The important point is about inquiring who is this person writing you poems?? You're keeping things from us...

Again Wens you have touched me there is something very deep that i love and respect about this post...thanks for sharing and i hope you will continue...i thisnk we all go through the whole "love" and getting our hearts broken to know what we want in life..you said it right "Since, each of us gets our heart broken at some point in time" but like you i have been trying to figure out " When we get wounded, how many of us not only rise and dust ourselves off, but actually put oneself out there again and give another person a fair shot/chance??" I mean do we really give someone else a "fair chance" or do we just think we are? hmmm one thing that i know for sure is that after we get our hearts broken we would never love like that again...

Thanks guys for all your insight on the most complex topic of all..."love." Mr. Anonymous, we are divided on what your old friend said to you.
And for me Carlene, yes I tend to give others a fair shot. If we're honest with ourselves only then can we truly come undone...for giving another that fair chance..
Mr. Bob what does it matter who the 'poet' is?? Isn't it better to put it/oneself out there than to assume women are clairvoyant?? Ha!

Bob Saget said...

No I don't. Cause you know as well as I do, that your gender is notoriously evil when it comes to that. Blah!

Bob...hahahaha!!! How dare you call women evil!! All I know is that sometimes "hell has no fury like a woman's scorn."

We can go back and forth on this with no resolution...ever!!!

Good stuff Wendy. As to the topic love I think we are misled by what we see in the movies and we wait for the big love bug to bite us.

True love is two ordinary people coming together to explore life together.

Not true...
I've had the love bug bite, but with all the trouble that damn thing caused me, I'm not interested...
The addage of "better have loved and lost, then to have never been loved at all" is BS...
Besides, most people don't know what love is...they confuse lust and love all the time...most people think Romeo & Juliet is a love story!

You want to test your love?
Put your dog & wife/gf in the trunk of a car. After 3 hours, open the trunk and then you'll see which one is happy to see you! That peeps, is love!

Hi,
This is really deep. I like it....it makes me look at life differently the love part of it though. Love is something no one can define but it carries a lot of emotions.

Hi Wen,
Love is a wonderful emotion and may become more fascinating when it is released unexpectedly. I think it accelerates our adrenalin and produces a threshold of happiness.
Love heals our souls and so we must enjoy our experiences as we laugh and learn along life's journey.
The renowned Lebanese poet, Kahlil Gibran wrote in his book, The Prophet, "For even as love crowns you, so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for growth so is he for your pruning."
He also said," And think not you can direct the course of love, for love if it finds you worthy, directs your course."
Live and embrace the power of love for it is a fulfilment that I believe brings smilesand amazing changes to your days.
